General requirements
Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.
A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries, Republic of South Africa requires a declaration by the importer that "the seed will not be used for propagation purposes." Depending on the import permit, a statement by the importer that "the seed will be used for processing purposes" may also be required. It is the importer's responsibility to fulfil these requirements.
