General Requirements

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 6241:

A crop inspection report must be presented as evidence that the parent plants were inspected and found free of Onion smut (Urocystis cepulae).

Treatment

​If a crop inspection report cannot be presented in support of EXDOC Endorsement 6241, the seeds must be treated with an appropriate fungicide at recommended manufacturer's requirements.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

​Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.

If the seeds are treated, a phytosanitary certificate with nil additional declaration will be issued.
