General Requirements

​​Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

​Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.

​Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Consignment must be labelled with correct botanical names (genus and species).

Transported containers must be sterile, rigid (non-porous) and clear to allow easy inspection upon arrival.

ICR applies to the following genus and species and hybrids.
  • Poncirus trifoliata x Citrus reticulata
  • Poncirus trifoliata x Citrus sinensis
  • Citrus reticulata​

Explanation of the endorsement:​

Endorsement 7386 – applies to bare rooted plants.

Endorsement 7388 – applies to plants exported in soil-less media.

Consignment is for research purpose only.​

The plants are subject to post entry quarantine on arrival in Samoa for a period of 3 months.

Treatment

​​​Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Bare rooted plants must be dipped in fenamiphos at 1.6g a.i. per litre of water for 30 minutes prior to export.

Plants in soil-less media must be fumigated with methyl – bromide at the rate of 32/m3 for 2 hours at 21 or above prior to export.

Additional Declaration/Endorsements

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 7386)

  1. Roots of the plants have been dipped in fenamiphos insecticide prior to export.
  2. The consignment is free from soil, visually detectable pests and diseases and any other contamination.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 7388​)

  1. The plants were raised from seed/cuttings in soil-less rooting media in containers maintained out of contact with the soil.
  2. The consignment has been fumigated with methyl – bromide prior to export.
  3. The consignment is free from soil, visually detectable pests and diseases and any other contamination.
