General Requirements

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

​Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Seed packaging must be new and first-use, labelled with product name, exporter and country of origin and sealed.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 6818:

  • A crop inspection certificate is required to endorse freedom from Carrot black rot (Alternaria radicina) and Bacterial leaf blight of tomato (Pseudomonas viridiflava).
  • A laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from Stinking chamomile (Anthemis cotula), Capeweed (Arctotheca calendula), Kochia (Bassia scoparia), Plumeless thistle (Carduus acanthoides), Italian thistle (Carduus pycnocephalus), Australian dodder (Cuscuta australis), Alfalfa dodder (Cuscuta epithymum), Barweed (Galium spurium), Common heliotrope (Heliotropium europaeum), Flower of an hour (Hibiscus trionum), Rigid ryegrass (Lolium rigidum), Canary-grass (Phalaris paradoxa), Pale persicaria (Polygonum lapathifolium), Hardheads (Rhaponticum repens), Buckbush (Salsola kali) and False mayweed (Tripleurospermum inodorum).
  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient for endorsing freedom from Rice moth (Corcyra cephalonica), Merchant grain beetle (Oryzaephilus mercator) and Warehouse beetle (Trogoderma variable).
Endorsement 6820:

​Consignments are to be treated with Fludioxonil 2.5% + Metalaxyl-M 1% FS at a rate of 2 ml/kg or an equivalent treatment.
