General Requirements

​Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds, evidence of disease and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Treatment

  • Consignments are to be fumigated with Methyl bromide at 48 grm/m3 for 2.5 hours at 21 degrees Celsius or above;

OR

  • Fumigated with Phosphine at 5 grm/m3 for 7 days at 25 degrees Celsius or above;

OR

  • Fumigated with Phosphine at 5 grm/m3 for 10 days at 15 to 25 degrees Celsius.

AND

  • Consignments are to be treated (dusted to excess) with an appropriate fungicide and/or insecticide at recommended manufacturers' requirements.


The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
