General requirements
Consignments are to be free from pests, soil,
weed seeds, evidence of disease and extraneous material.
A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Treatment
Treatment
- Consignments are to be fumigated with Methyl bromide at 48 grm/m3 for 2.5 hours at 21 degrees Celsius or above;
OR
- Fumigated with Phosphine at 5 grm/m3 for 7 days at 25 degrees Celsius or above;
OR
- Fumigated with Phosphine at 5 grm/m3 for 10 days at 15 to 25 degrees Celsius.
AND
- Consignments are to be treated (dusted to excess) with an appropriate fungicide and/or insecticide at recommended manufacturers' requirements.
The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.
