General Requirements

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Explanation of the endorsements:

Endorsement 681:

Is applicable for coffee beans of Australian origin.

Endorsement 2479:

Is applicable when Australia is not the country of origin and a representative sample has undergone laboratory analysis. The exporter is to provide a ​laboratory analysis certificate attesting to the endorsement.

​Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Treatment

​Consignments are to be fumigated with Methyl bromide at 48 grm/m3 at 21 degrees Celsius for 24 hours. If the import permit states treatment rate/type to be "Choice of Plant quarantine service", the consignment needs to be fumigated at manufacturers label rates.

​Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the department at time of authorisation.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 681)
1) Coffee berry disease (Colletotrichum coffeanum var. virulens) is not known to occur in Australia.

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 2479)
1) A representative sample has been tested for the presence of and found to be free from Coffee Berry Disease (Colletotrichum coffeanum var. virulans).
