Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.Note: Nepal's National Plant Protection Organisation (NPPO) notified that import permits issued by the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control do not comply with the phytosanitary procedures for importing plant and plant products into Nepal. Import permits must be obtained from the Plant Protection Directorate that contains phytosanitary import requirements.
Import permits issued electronically may have no signature and a QR code in lieu of a seal printed next to the space for an official seal. This is still a valid import permit and should be accepted.
