General Requirements

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 2187:​
  • Stewart's disease (Pantoea stewartii subsp stewartii), Nebraska wilt, (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp nebraskensis), Maize ergot (Claviceps gigantea), Anthracnose (Kabatiella zeae), Larger grain borer (Prostaphanus truncatus), Yellow leaf blight of maize (Mycosphaerrella zeae-maydis), Bacterial grapevine blight (Pantoea agglomerans) and Maize chlorotic dwarf ​machlovirus​ are not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from these pests.​
  • A crop inspection certificate or laboratory analysis certificate is required for endorsing freedom from Southern leaf blight of corn (Drechslera maydis), Tropical rust (Physopella zeae), Bacterial leaf stripe of sorghum & corn (Burkholderia andropogonis), Bacterial sheath rot (Pseudomonas fuscovaginae) and Halo blight (Pseudomonas syringae pv. coronafaciens).
  • Visual evidence by an Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from Maize weevil (Sitophilus zeamais).
  • All consignments must be free from India's Quarantine weed seeds as per schedule VIII of PQ order 2003. Exporter must provide a laboratory analysis certificate attesting to the endorsement and to present to the Authorised Officer at time of inspection.
  • In Addition, visual inspection by the Authorised Officer must be undertaken as per instructional m​​aterial for endorsing freedom from the following quarantine weed seeds.​
  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from soil (as per normal tolerances).

​Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Non-GMO requirements:

If certification is required (refer to import permit/NPPO notification), the exporter is responsible for ensuring that the consignment is accompanied by a Certificate as to Condition attesting that the seed has not been genetically modified.

If requested, a Certificate as to Condition (Grain - GX46/Horticulture - HX46) can be issued for the consignment that is specifically supported from information supplied by the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR) and where it is a government requirement of the importing country for non-GMO certification (refer to import permit/NPPO Notification).

The following text must be added to the additional declaration field when a GX46/HX46 template is added to the RFP:

I hereby certify the goods listed on this certificate do not contain genetically modified organisms and are not of genetically modified origin.
