General Requirements

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

​It is the exporter’s responsibility to ensure that the phytosanitary certificate is issued within 14 days of the consignment being exported from Australia.

Refer to the departure date and inspection date in the Request for Permit.

Each package or container must be clearly labelled with the name and address of the sender or the exporting company as well as the genus, species and variety of the seeds, and contain the following remark.

"Seeds for scientific or for breeding and exhibition purposes"

Seeds of a genetically modified variety must be clearly labelled as such and must be labelled with all additional information required according to the Genetic Engineering Law.
