General requirements
Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.
A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
A copy of the Import permit must be sent to the consignor and accompany the consignment.
Treatment
Treatment
If treatment requirements are included on the import permit, packaging and/or product is to be treated in accordance with the specified requirements.
The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.
Any fumigation certificates must accompany the phytosanitary certificate.
Wood packaging treatment:- Methyl bromide fumigation at 48 grm/m3 for 24 hours;
OR- Heat treatment at 56 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes.
Product treatment:- Methyl bromide fumigation at 32 grm/m3 for 21 degrees Celsius for 2 hours;
OR- Other appropriate treatments may be accepted.
