Consignments do not require treatment prior to export if there is no reference to treatment on the Import Permit.
The phytosanitary certificate will be issued with no treatment endorsed.
If a treatemnt is listed on the import permit the consignment must be treated prior to export as per the treatment schedule listed on the import permit.
Consignments are to be fumigated with:
- Methyl bromide at 21 degrees Celsius or above, at 32 g/m3 for 2 hours.
OR
- Vapour heat treatment (VHT) at 46 degrees celcius (inner pulp temperature) for 20 minutes
Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.
The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
