The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.Details of treatment to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate in the treatment section.
Prior to export all plants must be;
- Fumigated with Methyl Bromide at 32 g/m3 for 2 hours;
OR
- Sprayed with 0.2% Malathion and 0.4% Tetramethylthiuram Disulfide (TMTD);
OR
- Treated with other approved insecticides or fungicides.
For plants with growing media, the soil-less organic media should be treated with:
- Fumigation using Phosphine gas at 2 g/m3 for 72 hours;
OR
- Fumigation using Methyl Bromide at 32 g/m3 for 4 hours at NAP and NRT;
OR
- Other approved treatments.
Any wood packing material used must be treated with:
- Fumigation using Methyl Bromide at 48 g/m3 for 24 hours;
OR
- Heat treatment
at 56°C for a minimum duration of 30 continuous minutes;
OR

Other approved treatment in accordance with International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM) No.15.
