General Requirements

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Additional declarations are only to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate if the import permit specifically states this requirement. Exporters are to refer to the import permit to determine the appropriate additional declaration for their consignment.

  • Potato wart disease (Synchytrium endobioticum)
  • Potato cyst nematode (Globodera rostochiensis)
  • Stewart's disease (Erwinia stewartii)

Chloris gayana is not a host of Dry rot of maize (Stenocarpella macrospora). Freedom from this pest may be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate without any evidence as it is not on Chloris gayana seed export pathway.

1) Potato ring rot (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp sepedonicus), Potato wart disease (Synchytrium endobioticum), Potato cyst nematode (Globodera rostochiensis) and Stewart's disease (Erwinia stewartii) are not known to occur in Australia,
2) The consignment was found free through official testing and inspection procedure of Dry rot of maize (Stenocarpella macrospora).
