General Requirements

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsements 7106, 7107 and 7108:
  • Visual inspection by the Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from Warehouse beetle (Trogoderma variabile) and Rice moth (Corcyra cephalonica).
  • Red witchweed (Striga asiatica) is recognised as not occurring in any Australian states and territories except for the Mackay Region of Queensland. Seeds of Australian origin may be endorsed free from Striga asiatica without any evidence presented except for seed sourced from the Mackay Region. Seeds sourced from the Mackay Region cannot be endorsed for export to Argentina.
  • For seeds grown and/or inspected in an area in Queensland other than the Mackay Region, if required the place of production details may be entered in the "Additional product description field" section of the EXDOC Request for Permit (RFP) as: THE SEED WAS GROWN IN <PLACE OF PRODUCTION>, <STATE>. There is to be no deviation from this text format. To enable the field on the RFP, the exporter must submit a request to the EXDOC Plant Program via  (EXDOCPlantPrograms@awe.gov.au).
Endorsement 7106:
  • A crop inspection report must be presented as evidence of freedom from Common broomrape (Orobanche minor), Nodding broomrape (Orobanche cernua) and Branched broomrape (Orobanche ramosa).
  • A crop inspection report must be presented as evidence of freedom from Common fiddle-neck (Amsinckia intermedia), Prostrate cape weed (Arctotheca prostrata), Bifora (Bifora testiculata), Wild turnip (Brassica tournefortii), Wards weed (Carrichtera annua), Perennial thistle (Cirsium arvense), Canadian fleabane (Conyza canadensis), Small-flowered nutsedge (Cyperus difformis), Starfruit (Damasonium minus), Doublegee (Emex australis), Square-stalked willow herb (Epilobium tetragonum), Mouse-ear hawkweed (Hieracium pilosella), Muskweed (Myagrum perfoliatum), Calomba daisy (Pentzia suffruticosa), Bog bulrush (Schoenoplectus mucronatus) and African turnipweed (Sisymbrium thellungii).
Endorsement 7107:
  • A crop inspection report must be presented as evidence of freedom from Common broomrape (Orobanche minor), Nodding broomrape (Orobanche cernua) and Branched broomrape (Orobanche ramosa).
