General Requirements

​Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


​Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Explanation of the endorsement:

  • Some import permits for products originating from a country other than Australia may require certification of freedom from Trogoderma spp (no specific species name). If so, endorsement 3612 is to be used. If the import permit requires certification of freedom from khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium) specifically, endorsement 7030 is to be used.
  • Endorsement 7030 cannot be used for products grown in Australia.
  • If no additional declaration is listed in the import permit, a phytosanitary certificate with no additional declaration is to be issued.
  • If the products' country of origin is not Australia, or the import permit indicates a product origin country which is not Australia, the statement "ORIGIN OF <country>" must be entered in the "Additional product description field" section of the EXDOC Request for Permit (RFP). To enable the field on the RFP the exporter must submit a request to the EXDOC Plant program via EXDOCPlantPrograms@agriculture.gov.au.
Endorsement 3612:
  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient for endorsing freedom from grain beetles (Trogoderma spp.)
Endorsement 7030:
  • Visual inspection by an Authorised Officer is sufficient for endorsing freedom from khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium)
